David’s Unofficial Uke Rules

  • Do not play I’m yours
  • Do not play Somewhere Over the Rainbow more than once a year
  • Never play the above song in a small room within which a party is held
  • Don’t say you play the ukulele if you just own one and don’t touch it.
  • If you played 5 or more years ago and have not played since you do not play the ukulele
  • Don’t be an overly happy asshole
  • Don’t constantly flit around reminding everyone you play the ukulele…
  • …Unless you’re James Hill. Then you fucking rock.
  • Don’t be an asshole.
  • Just enjoy it for yourself, don’t play to impress.
  • If you like the ukulele, play semi-regularly at least, and enjoy playing it, it doesn’t matter your skill level. You play the ukulele
  • Have fun. But not so much fun that you’re annoying.
  • Bring your uke in a case. We can tell you want someone to ask you about it if you don’t. Cover it up. Take it out when you play, plus it’s just smart.
  • Don’t take yourself too seriously*

  • If you don’t like it, stop playing. We can probably tell.
